At St. Joseph’s Care Hospice Services, Inc., we understand that some patients may need round-the-clock care. For this reason, we are happy to offer our Continuous Crisis Care services wherein our hospice staff works in shifts of up to 24 hours. By doing this, we enable hospice patients to remain at home, rather than be admitted to a hospital. Continuous Crisis Care may be needed when the patient experiences severe pain, acute respiratory distress, nausea and vomiting, difficulty breathing, restlessness, and/or seizures.
Continuous Crisis Care may include:
- 24-hour, round-the-clock care
- Intensive, personal care
- Acute symptom management
- Additional care and support by a hospice nurse or aide
- Support from a hospice physician who can coordinate with the patient’s personal physician
